Turkey trot

Saturday, November 18 registration starting at 12:30 @ Cobb Stadium

a gobbling good fundraiser

WHAT: This is a jog-a-thon fundraising event, turkey-style! Students collect pledges from friends and family and walk or run around the track at Cobb Stadium. Top earners for each grade will win a fun prize! Don't forget to come cheer on your favorite student, visit our concessions, maybe touch a cool truck, and enjoy the fresh air before it gets too cold!

Fundraising packets will be sent out through the schools on November 1st. If your child wants to get a head start fundraising, you can help them do so at https://app.99pledges.com/fund/GobbleTilUWobble/addme . Thanks in advance for your participation and/or donation!

Event Map

We are all excited for the MCS Pride PTA’s 3rd Annual Turkey Trot tomorrow! The weather looks a bit rainy in the morning with a cloudy afternoon, so we are still hoping to hold the event outside at Cobb Stadium and the Pride Parking Lot (touch-a-truck).

Sanford Parks & Rec has informed us that they will be out of the Pride parking lot by 11 a.m. sharp. However, please be careful as their runners could still be around, and safety is paramount. Feel free to cheer them on if you see them!

·         This should allow plenty of time for the vehicles for our touch-a-truck to get into place before 12:15 p.m. (Sanford PD @ 12:30).

·         Volunteers and participants can park in any of the green areas designated in the event map (in addition to Pride we got permission to park at Willard from Adult Ed).

Per signups, setup starts at 11:30 a.m. (this is when Mrs. Inman and Mrs. Daly will arrive to unlock the stadium and school). This includes setting up the raffle table, prepping the concession booth, setting up a couple tables indoor incase we need to move inside, hanging some posters, etc.

Please arrive for your designated signup time (those not setting up may have later times, check the sign-up genius at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F4AA9AA2EAAFECE9-46141308-turkey#/ if you’re not sure). Text or call me (Peggy) if you have any issues at (908) 763-7350.

We will have access to the concession booth. There is electricity, but no running water. We will also have access to the sound system. Concessions include:

·         Bowl of Chili or Corn Chowder $2

·         Chips, Pretzels, or Popcorn $1

·         Candy $1

·         Soda $1

·         Hot Cocoa $1

·         Aroma Joe’s Coffee $1

The raffle table will double as a spirit stick sales point. Spirit Sticks and extra raffle tickets are each $1. Raffle tickets will be given to each SRTC Pre-K, MCS, and Pride kiddo at registration (and for sale at raffle table); winners will be called at 2:45 p.m. (and via phone afterwards if not present).

Prizes to be distributed during the event:

·         Medals to be distributed to all runners after each race.

·         Fastest Runners: Trophies (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place runners) to be distributed after each race along with 1st place certificate to Sanford Dairy Queen.

·         Raffle tickets will be given to any kiddos that check in at the registration booth (you do not have to have your paperwork to do so as many have fundraised online). Raffles will be called at 2:45 p.m. Winners do not have to be present to get their prizes; please include your telephone number on the back of your ticket so that we can call you to arrange distribution.

Prizes to be distributed later at school include:

·         Kiddos who raise more than $35 get a "Gobble Til You Wobble" Spirit Stick.

·         Kiddos who raise more than $50 get to have lunch with an Administrator.

·         The top fundraiser from MCS gets to be principal for a day.

·         The top fundraiser from Pride gets to do morning announcements and a school-wide walk thru with an Administrator announcing their accomplishment to each classroom.

·         Top four fundraisers get a Smitty's Cinema, Sanford Movie Pass.

·         Top fundraisers for each grade at each school get 3 strings of bowling + shoe rental from Bowl-A-Rama, Sanford and a box of four Frannie's Mini Donuts.

Vehicles can arrive as early as 11:45 a.m.

A police cruiser and fire truck will be parked in Touch-a-Truck Zone 2 (behind the school, same as last year) where they can make a quick exit in case of emergency. Please do not block them in.

Based on vehicle measurements, we’ve designated* parking spots for Touch-a-Truck Zone 2 as follows. Please be respectful of the vehicles and listed to the instructions given by their respective owners.
